I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AlixPartners (Dallas, TX)
Interview
I applied for a business intelligence role focused on a specific market in which I have worked in my entire career at another consulting firm. I applied online, and quickly received an email to schedule a screening interview. During the screening I was told they have had difficulty filling this position and my background matches perfectly to their needs. A few days later I received an email stating I have moved along in the process and needed to fly to their HQ for a day long interview process the next week and I also had to take two SHL personality assessments before the face to face interviews. The agenda for the day included a wonderlic / IQ test and four 30 minute interviews with members of their team. Once again, each interviewer told me that my background was a perfect fit for the position I was applying for as my resume, qualifications, and experience matched exactly. The questions they asked were all situational e.g., "Tell me about a time when ..." or "How would you handle ..." as the entire process is about psychoanalyzing candidates.
Two days later, I noticed they reposted the job online, and soon after I received an email stating, "after reviewing your background and qualifications we do not want to proceed with your application. This entire process confused me as I was told the entire time my background and qualifications were what they were looking for and it was. I emailed AlixPartners back asking for feedback and received nothing in return. I guess the hiring process is all about personality / looks and other metrics.
I get it, the interviewing process is tough, but this one stood out which is why I chose to detail it in a review. Their people seemed nice, but it's just an odd process.
