Pros

Salary is great but the office environment has turned into a sweat shop. If salary is all that is important to you, this is a great place for you to work.

Cons

Continuous organizational changes. Way too many procedures to follow. Operating systems are extremely sluggish. I believe they have chosen the budget plan for tech support. Workload is lacking and becomes a hassle trying to find enough time charges to fill a week.

Pros

Used to have good project work.

Cons

First: WorleyParsons Engineering groups are racist. This isn't necessarily unique to Worley in Calgary, but it is most prominent at Worley. That is a bold statement, but when 40% of particular groups are the same as the Lead, then you have to ask yourself this simple question. Second:, WorleyParsons is outsourcing work to China, and laying off local personnel in Calgary. This strategy is backfiring as the Owners don't really want this to happen. So Worley's market share in Calgary is shrinking Third: Worley has very weak project management; yet are very expensive. I do not recommend anybody working for Worley in Calgary. All decisions are being made in Australia and the Aussies have no idea about Canadian culture. Canadians do not embrace the mass out-sourcing of work to China. Communist China is not Canada's friend and Canada should not be out-sourcing Engineering to China.

Pros

Money is ok. Many people have survived here without doing any work so if you want to come and get paid without doing anything, this is the place!

Cons

Very poor management! Very poor HR department for getting residency (Indian Mafia as they are known)! The Mandoop's need to be "greased" (Paid $) if you want to "speed" things up. One friend asked for a reciept after paying and got laughed at. I understand that this may be the way to do business in the Middle East, not I am suprised WP condones this behaviour. I am sure when shareholders find out about this, they will not be pleased. Corporate culture is very poor, "blame game" is alive and well:) I worked in other WP offices and Kuwait does not nurture the "talk" specifically around "people are assets". Safety is not part of the culture here, I got laughed at on my first week here when I tried to do a Safety moment (ONE WAY). Hope you read this Andrew:) I have had the project director tell me to work overtime ensuring I would get paid, but KOC would not sign the overtime approval after I worked (from the project director's instruction). Client KOC is very unrealistic! KOC is the same way, do not "walk the talk" and is very much a "Blame" culture. DEFINETLY DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
