      The only prose’s I can think about is getting your feet wet in the oil &gas industries and have a temporary job

      Do you know about “Old boys country club” . It is exacly how Worleyparsons Operates. When a project is closed out you need to know somebody up to get one to a new project. Looks like dedication and hard work does NOT count. They will tell you” you do not have the experience for …. “ but what they do, they get all there good friends with Zero experience in Lead posiotions . In addition the department managers will give 20-30 OT per week to there prefered friends and plase same caliber workers in convinient live

      Pros

      -Get to work on a variety of projects. -Work hours are pretty flexible.

      Cons

      -Nepotism exists. -Some project managers are just junior engineers that obtained their PMP designation, but don't have the experience or skill of the more senior engineers that they are leading. -There are no annual bonuses. -Like any consutling company, it is subjected to boom-and-bust cycles of the Alberta Economy. Staffing ramps up usually only after 6-9 months of high enough oil prices that enable the shelved projects to restart again.

      In terms of work and day to day tasks, the company provides great opportunities suiting to your abilities and company need based on availability of work. Although this provides some exception experience for some, it pigeonholes others.

      Cons

      Push for company wide initiatives or standards from WorleyParsons HQ in Australia results in disconnects and confusion at times with regional offices. In addition, management hierarchy is convoluded with legacy personnal.
