      World Kinect (aka World Fuel Services) is a giant corporation based in Miami, FL. They bought our locally owned company (PAPCO) in 2016. PAPCO was a wonderful place to work back then. Everyone felt like they were part of a team. Everyone mattered. For the first 5 years, it was mostly business as usual aside from the Covid nightmare.

      Cons

      In 2021, World Fuel began what they called “Land Unification” meaning they were going to force all the smaller land based fuel companies they had purchased to operate as they had been doing in the aviation & marine industries. Local people were laid off as jobs were outsourced. Every employee has become a number - 100% dispensable. It is the most depressing place to work that you could imagine. I don’t know a single person who’s happy in their job. Everyone works day-to-day, waiting on the next axe to fall. Nearly every person at the company is updating their resumes, including some folks who have been with the company for many years. World Fuels is treating customers the same way they treat employees-they’re just numbers on a balance sheet.
