Pros

Health insurance, five weeks vacation, work-family balance, opportunity to work from home

Cons

No leadership, pompous arrogance of mid-managers and senior analysts, green and inexperienced executive management, buddy system, disconnect between departments and toxic environment in general, generations of families working together in the same offices and often on the same teams.

Pros

relative to peer companies none.

Cons

The company morale is terrible, senior execs are just drones following the company script - all yes men and woman and questioning anything is now a fireable offence or at least career suicide. It used to be the people but so many have now left and jobs replaced in India - now any one competent is doing the jobs of three people. The most basic possible paternity/maternity leave which is pretty archaic. terrible bonuses, non existent incentives to stay.

Pros

Very knowledgeable people and very good legacy research about the energy industry Generally nice people at lower levels Good work-life balance (including 5 weeks vacation)

Cons

Very out of market pay Mid and upper management are not good leaders/mentors Zero career progression (virtually no one goes from non-mgmt to mid-mgmt) and zero salary progression (you are lucky to keep up with inflation) Very hardcore about cutting costs (including employee benefits [e.g. healthcare plan was significantly downgraded and nothing was provided to make up for it] and hiring negotiation is very intense (they are not nice negotiators) Extreme turnover at lower levels Nearly all new mid-managers and above are hired externally
