Pros

The work is very rewarding because you learn new technologies in a very rapidly growing field. You also meet all kinds of customers around the coutry or possibly the world. It's a very exciting job that never gets boring. VMware invests heavily on training, more than other companies I've worked for.

Cons

The travel can be anywhere from 50% to 75% depending on your location and specialties. The work week is typically Monday-Friday. Travel can be challenging with a family.

Very fast pace and at times confusing and conflicting directions First and Second Management Layers are not that competent - great engineers, does not always equal great managers Politics, politics, politics - to much of it. Sometime hinders getting work done
