Get to play with new tech Some intelligent people to interface with Big ideas Allowed to work from home Management can be very hands off if you're good at what you do Advancement if you rub elbows with the right people

Cons

Company is run like a startup (not in a good way) Management is delusional and out of touch with end users and customers Technology is falling behind open source (Openstack, Cloudstack) Company is disorganized Engineering documentation is difficult and sometimes impossible to locate easily Zimbra is a terrible email system - Migration to Outlook in progress No consistent communications platform - Some individuals use Skype, some use Hangouts, others Lync... People are scattered all over the world which add complexity to communicating efficiently Work hours are longggggggggg - 12 hours daily is the norm here Impossible to take PTO as there are always multiple projects in flight

VMware HQ is INCREDIBLE Fantastic benefits Stock Rocks Products do what they are supposed to do

Cons

NEVER ANY downtime It's all about VMware and there is never any consideration given to the employee Sales management is horrible. . .no value selling, just discount by 85% to get it in the door Politics are rampant and you better LOVE EMC or be from there (or, just say you love spinning disks)

Fast paced environment, collaborative colleagues, a nice gym in the building, fun outings/parties. A work environment that appreciates learning and keeping up with technology. Being surrounded by intelligent and engaged co-workers and managers. A diverse workforce. Casual dress code.

Cons

Like working for any corporation, long hours are required to be successful, including after hours/weekends. This is not a company for anyone who isn't hungry to learn and grow personally and professionally.
