Large, diverse company. Good exposure to international arena. Being in technology space keeps business competitiveness at the forefront.

Cons

From a finance professional perspective the company has minimized the role its finance organization plays. Consequently, the software and analytical packages that are used tend to be outdated and the level of financial analysis unsophisticated. All important decision making has been stripped from finance roles, leaving finance as a reporting function only. This has the impact of limiting development, and monetary opportunities for those who wish to remain in a finance role.

Pros

Technical community and history of the company being an innovator. Great legacy of innovations from first IC, DSPs, DLPs, wireless cost and performance, analog portfolio. It is a great place for family life/work balance and it does depend a lot on your manager though.

Cons

Stagnation in job, limited opportunities for growth and poor senior and ineffective middle management. Middle management appears to be cloned due to inbreeding and mentoring. With current string of changes in the last decade it appears that TI is a cut and run operation.
