Pros

Fast Fun and Friendly will break up your daily activies once in a while

Cons

Burocratic and top heavy. There were always 4 other people tasked with the same goal as you and you may never know it. The trick was to know what answer management was looking for and go thorugh the motions of subjectivly evaluating a problem. Group Think was prevalent. More effort is extended in making each other look good than solving problems. The only acceptable solutions to problems were free or to push the issue into someone elses budget. Decision making was slowly being outsourced.

Pros

the discount is the best thing about working for target. You will save on taxes

Cons

politics . play them or you will go nowhere. dress well, or you will not be selected. Find a friend in senior management to speak on your behalf during thier district contribution meetings. Its not difficult.. the average STL is under 30 just take them out for a drink.

Pros

Mostly friendly, but you soon discover that if you don't fit the "culture" exactly, you will go nowhere.

Cons

The leadership "development" hinges on your peers communicating their perceptions of you to senior management. You quickly find that you must be constantly aware of how others view you because those views go directly to senior management. When that happens, you begin the struggle of perception management, even though it's often started by some peer who has never worked anywhere else. With very little management experience or experience leading people, these brand new managers are given the false impression that they are leaders who can judge the abilities of peers. This becomes the "machine" of the culture that each "team" member must survive in.
