Pros

Better than what I've heard of similar employers in the retail environment. Meals have been brought in for employees almost every week during the holidays and it seems to help morale.

Cons

Have to pretty far up the food chain to make much money. Sometimes there is a little more pressure than necessary on being fast, fast, fast. Schedules are sometimes approximations. Some days they want you to stay late, others they're pushing employees out the door early to save a little bit on payroll, so it can be difficult to plan.

Pros

Being an Executive Team Leader with Target, you either love it or hate it. There's almost no middle ground. You find out very quickly if its for you. Also - you get out what you put in to your job.

Cons

Crazy hours, work/life balance, love it or hate it. Know how to work "office politics" to be successful. Either you 'get it' or you don't.

Pros

Target is very flexible, so your schedule really fits into your everday life. They also have a lot of advancement opportunities, since they are such a large corporation. You get to learn all aspects of the retail industry, whether it is apparel, electronics, groceries, or toys.

Cons

Target is very cheap. They believe in handing more money out to the public instead of their workers. They don't give many hours to their regular sales associates, but they have their management team doing the bulk of the work. They also do not like to promote their good workers to better positions. If they feel like you are more beneficial to that store, they will do anything possible to keep you in that store, instead of allowing you to move up.
