Pros

Free hot dogs on 4th of July...

Cons

There are just too many uneducated people working in middle-management positions. Unqualified People + Power Position = disaster... Also, our power was out for 3 days and they kept the store open... 90+ temps and no air! But, they gave us free water... sad. Really sad considering we all did it for minimum wage.

Pros

Target has a very friendly atmosphere and the pay is decent. Target really cares about its employees as well as its customers. It has a great internship program to train college students how to be a store manager.

Cons

A downside of all retail jobs is the hours. It varied if I worked when the store opened or when the store closed, making it hard to get into a set work routine. I normally worked every other weekend, and the hours varied depending on when they needed me.

Pros

great benefits, especially if you have been w/ the company for a while. they have been flexible w/ time off requests and in general do alot for the community as a corporation

Cons

i strongly agree w/ other reviews that have said how hard it is to be promoted from w/in the company. its downright ridiculous. i have a BA and have been w/ the company over 7 years and its nearly impossible to be promoted past team lead. it makes no sense. college grads are hired as execs and guess who ends up training them? target needs to start looking at the employees who have been loyal to the company, and offer more opportunites for advancement. i understand requiring a degree for upper management but i have that and still cant get anywhere. thats the biggest issue i have w/ the company. the other thing that annoys me is they claim to be "green" yet they will ship one bra in a huge box, or package things (from the dc) in ways that make no sense. theres no rhyme or reason to it
