Pros

-Pay is great -Schedule is not bad, 40 hours and every other weekend off -Get along well with peers -Can learn a lot

Cons

-As pay increases, so do the expectations. It can sometimes feel like you aren't good enough after doing everything that you can -The above con creates low morale at times -Sometimes get along great with supervisor and at times get berated -Relationship with direct reports can be negative because of the expectations given by higher ups. As a Team Leader you can be caught in the middle of pushing your team for excellence while also recognizing that they are people who work hard and simply cannot meet the ridiculous expectations.

Pros

They supply peanut butter and jelly in the break room?

Cons

To start with, everybody on the sales floor is considered part time. Target used to be a good place to work then they started cutting costs. First they raised their minimum wage then they started giving you less hours to compensate. Then they started doing away with the specialized teams that did the pricing and the planogram setting and the truck. Now, they cut the hours of the sales floor in half. So, basically you have to push the truck, do the markdowns in your designated area, and set any new sales planners they give you. Even $15 an hour doesn't help when you only get 20 hours a week and do the work of the equivalent of 3 full specialized teams that used to get a full 8 hour shifts and you're expected to do in 4. Corporate is pressuring the management to make it work so they breathe down team members' necks to get the work done while not lifting a single finger to help anyone. All the while, you're expected to sell to every single guest in your department. Sales quotas, heavy workload, minimal hours. Not a fun place to work at all
