Pros

Many of the Co Workers are fun to be around and make the day more interesting. Helping people who really need it can be very rewarding because they genuinely appreciate your help.

Cons

As with any retail job, there are plenty of people who think they know more than you and treat you like you are beneath them purely because you work retail, and you just get to smile at them and tell them to have a nice day. They tend to hire management from outside the company, and many of these people have never worked retail in their life, let alone at a Target.

Pros

Benefits. Competitive pay. Fun events

Cons

Work/life balance. Long hours with unreasonable expectations - do more with less. Unless you are a young, blond, attractive female don't expect to become a store manager or higher in the org chart. Target does everything to not pay unemployment claims

Pros

Loved my team members! Made a ton of new friends. Loved working the holidays with my team. Work/life balance not bad, however, dont you dare call in or they will make you feel horrible.

Cons

Where do I begin.....MICROMANAGING! They hire recent grads who know nothing about the company. The team leads gossiped all day. Several team members heard team leads talking bad about them to other team members while they were on the floor. The team leads acted like bullies when they came to "check on our progress" I worked as an Operator/Softlines Team Member. My team lead usually has a long list of things for me to do each day. I wouldn't mind completing these tasks, however, she usually wanted them done in an hour. How on earth does one fold an entire section, refill the floor, super-zone an entire area, while answering the the phone and checking individuals into the fitting room???? Employees are required to show up even while sick. An employee that worked in the food court contracted a Staph infection, instead of sending him home, they let him continue to work. When others complained, they transferred him to the grocery department...really? Laughing is seen as unproductive, however, I was constantly told that I was not fast, fun, and friendly....The raises were terrible and were based on your ability to kiss up to the team leads. At times there was about 2 or 3 people closing several departments on their own. The minute the end of December rolled around, the layoffs begin to take hold. It might have taken 3 years for me to escape, however I DID IT! SWEET BABY JESUS I ESCAPED!!!
