Pros

I started working at TJ Maxx in college and stayed for 10 years. It was a great company to work for and only got better throughout my time with different benefits and initiatives through the company. My favorite thing was the flexibility they allowed with my schedule. Throughout the pandemic employees were constantly being given bonuses and wages were even raised.

Cons

The only downsides I had were with certain managers, but that's going to be the case for any job. The only downside from the corporate company was the way they pushed managers to push employees to push charities and credit card applications onto customers.

Pros

sometimes some employees are nice

Cons

management is rude and entitled, on my last day I had been there 5 hours of a 6-hour shift and hadn't had my break - I went up to see when it was and was yelled at by the manager at the registers "determines when I will break and never to ask again." After I gave my notice, every manager became cold and rude to me as well. Do not apply or accept the job - pay is bad, hours are bad, customers are terrible, and management is awful.

Pros

*THIS DEPENDS ON MANAGEMENT* -Flexible schedule -Room for quick growth

Cons

Management makes or breaks this job. Before Rebecca Valera became the store manager, this was my favorite job that I had ever worked. I was promoted 2 months into the job and genuinely enjoyed the culture and work. After she became the manager, everything went downhill. She was EXTREMELY rude to all of the employees, resulting in the turnover rate skyrocketing and several employees, old and new, walking out. Also, the pay is extremely low for the work they expect. This was bearable when the work environment was healthy, but with new toxic management it wasn't even close to being worth it. When I started, pay for associates was $9/hr. I was promoted to Coordinator 2 months in and received a $1/hr raise and an advance on the 6 month $1/hr raise, bringing me to $11/hr. It was the typical "overworked, underpaid" scenario, but I loved the job and the growth within the company looked promising. There is very little regulation of upper management, which can result in exploitation and contamination of culture. I would not recommend this specific location.
