Pros

Associate discount 10% and sometimes 20%

Cons

Instead of giving hours they hire more people. The Average weekly hours is like 10-15 hours. The pay sucks You are not appreciated Bad communication between managers A lot of associates are calling out so you have to do their job as well The store manager has no respect for their employees You get yelled at a lot because they don't give enough training when they hire you. You have to do everything in the store.

Pros

Every time I have ever requested off for school, outside activities, or personal reasons, I have gotten the time off. While I was working on my degree, my schedule was not very flexible and they gave me my available hours. Gratitude is shown when someone gets a customer to sign up for a TJX Rewards Card. Recognition is given to employees who frequently get credit applications. Yearly reviews are usually accurate. In nearly all customer/associate disputes, no matter how minor, management usually sides with the associate while simultaneously placating the customer.

Cons

Management; unfortunately, while some associates and customers have the ability to display professionalism, some members of management are not so skilled. I have seen, with my own eyes, a customer completely taken aback when she heard the tone a manager took when an associate asked a question. This customer glanced at me and looked appropriately appalled. There is however, one manager, who will remain nameless, that is the real reason this store thrives as much as it does. And I have a genuine respect for her. Naturally I show respect to all I work with, but it's genuinely felt towards her. Another downside is the number of associates in a given shift. It's usually not enough. For those who work in Area 2, they are responsible for 1/3 of the store, in addition to covering certain breaks, taking their own, and covering cashiers when lives get too long. This is too much for just one employee. There needs to be two associates in Area 1, Area 2, and 60/80; someone to push out new merchandise, recover throughout the department, and someone else to cashier in the front and take care of layaway purchases when the time calls for it.

Pros

The coworkers are cool, very flexible, and easy job

Cons

This place is so freaking greedy, been here for 2 years and still only get paid $12. When telling my manager about that I was told “well other jobs are paying higher.” They don’t care for your loyalty to them. And then discount is only 10%. They only care for credit cards not your well being.
