Pros

They're not a union, so you don't get BS union taxes pulled out of your paycheck. You actually get the amount you probably work for. The management is so lovely. They care about their employees and their pay checks. Also, they feed you a lot. At my TJ Maxx, they had a lot of holiday parties and random pot lucks. A great first job, and I should have stuck with it for a very long time.

Cons

Very slow, so sometimes boring and not much to do.

TJ Maxx will pay for talent at the management level, the quality of work/life balance is amazing for retail 40-45hrs even during the holidays.Benefits are great 75% match on your 401K,2 weeks of vacation upon hire 3 after 2 years of service,2 personal days a year.Maybe it was just me but my DM and SM were great. There is so much room for growth on the east coast.Associates become like family and I had some great associates.I miss I left for personal reasons. This was my personal experience keep in mind everyone has a different outlook.

Cons

You didn't know what type or how much merchandise the store was receiving which can make it challenging.Pay is extremely low for entry employees.
