Pros

In my area: the pay is GREAT (starting off at $9/hour). Flexible shifts "Family" feeling/comraderie between staff 10% associate discount Always getting to know what is in style a.s.a.p. (if that is important to you) If you're full time, you get great benefits and paid vacation It is easy to advance in your career as long as you put effort into your work and care about the store.

Cons

Rude/ridiculous customers Deadlines you have to meet that are sometimes unrealistic Business during holidays Sometimes management can be a real pain and totally forget what it's like to work in non-management jobs Customers "trashing" the store and then it's "your fault" Overall, there are not really downsides of working for TJ MAXX-- it's usually customers that put a damper on my day.

Pros

I absolutely enjoyed working as a jewelry salesperson, selling jewelry interacting with the customers and giving consultations of their jewelry purchases

Cons

very bad management...the managers demanded you to work past your shifts and wanted an account of your personal life....they refused to give vacation time at the last second after people already signed up on the sign off sheet and was given permission to take those days off.... Human resources was a joke....

Pros

The fashion, the coworkers, and the customer interactions. I definitely appreciate the management's understanding of the need for a balance between work and personal time.

Cons

Policies are not always clearly communicated and they are not necessarily consistent. Of course, as is true of retail, the customers can, on occassion, be decidedly unpleasant.
