Pros

The employees for the most part have been very likable and I've made quite a few friends during my time there. One of the main reasons I chose to work for the company is the merchandise, you can always find something good at Tj Maxx and getting to browse the store before the customers was a plus. They also have these monthly drawing which was fun.

Cons

Being a part time associate means low hours, average 20 hrs weekly. The pay is terrible, they start you off at the minimum wage. The store is almost always a mess. Customers coming in putting merchandise in every location except the right one. Messy, messy. There are almost never enough people working, and those who are, are constantly called to the registers every 5 minutes. Oh and those stupid credit apps, they want you to ask EVERY customer, EVERY time even the ones that come twice a day. So annoying.

Pros

Easy employment. I truly believe that anyone who is even a marginally decent candidate could get a job there. My experience could be tied to my location and the store manager, and you should take it with a grain of salt.

Cons

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you do a great job, then they'll cut everyone's hours until you can't do a decent job at all, and then blame you for it. If you do an average job, they'll dock you hours. Some people worked 4 hours a week, some worked 40. And there was no ability to work with their employees, even long term ones. If you do repeated seasonal work you, will always be listed as a temp, always getting only minimum wage.
