Pros

the clothing and the discounts, scheduling around college kids, and the benefits any other pros are lost as the company becomes greedy taking away store help for better bonuses

Cons

As the company makes more money they cut hours to the bone while upping the inventory, you may have up to 20 unopened large boxes of clothes with no one to hang them, the district manager will pretend they don't see this as they say you have plenty of hours, when in truth you have one cashier a day, all departments are on registers and no new merchandise will hit the floor for days or weeks. at least once a week brow beaten for not selling rewards cards, and upper management (district and above) will punish your store for it, by cutting hours even more. If you are looking for a job that gives good raises this is not the place,

Pros

The employees for the most part have been very likable and I've made quite a few friends during my time there. One of the main reasons I chose to work for the company is the merchandise, you can always find something good at Tj Maxx and getting to browse the store before the customers was a plus. They also have these monthly drawing which was fun.

Cons

Being a part time associate means low hours, average 20 hrs weekly. The pay is terrible, they start you off at the minimum wage. The store is almost always a mess. Customers coming in putting merchandise in every location except the right one. Messy, messy. There are almost never enough people working, and those who are, are constantly called to the registers every 5 minutes. Oh and those stupid credit apps, they want you to ask EVERY customer, EVERY time even the ones that come twice a day. So annoying.
