Pros

Management are down to earth and staff always have a great culture amongst them. Never any problems with pay and adequate HR system with a quick response time for queiries

Cons

Very limited hours and often given 4 hour shifts at inconvenient hours Eg 7-11 and 2-6. Short staffed at tills and often unorganised.

Pros

The pay is great, depending on the number of hours you do (of course). Staff are a joy to be around, You are able to advance in your career if you choose to stay with T.K. Maxx and understand the business. You get to work with coveted brands that you love. Available work for day and night work.

Cons

Poor life work balance - i.e. management expect staff to be on time, yet keep the staff behind (on average) 2 hours after specified shifts. Your social life is non-existent if you work lots of hours - you literally eat, sleep, work; with only a few days in the week to recover and start the cycle again. T.K. Maxx tend to (for lack of a better word) "slave-drive" you with hard-work and often times don't show an appreciation of the hard work put in by staff. Lack of communication between all managers often - one manager could tell you to balance or push out stock, another would come by soon afterwards and say take it down or ask why it is like this when it's not supposed to be like that. Clumping of stock - tend to push out a lot of stock which makes the store look cheap, which is disappointing for a store that sells "Big labels for small prices.".......pushing out too much stock can be an eye-sore at times, in any retail store; there is a strong difference between T.K. Maxx's ethos of "treasure-hunt shopping" and looking cheap. Pressure on management from their seniors is put on staff. The discount perks could be a bit higher. It takes long to advance in your career there because they keep you in one department and claim they want the staff to specialise in that area, but during the quarterly review they will wonder why you have not learnt about the whole business.
