Pros

Money, staff discount, associate room

Cons

Associates are treated like objects that are part of the company, even younger members of the management team talk down on older ladies that are part of the associate teams, we always get threaten with losing our jobs, always pushed to the limits of a nervous breakdown. Members of staff protect each other and quite often make fun of the associates on the shop floor and system’s office, they are bullies. If the store manager doesn’t like us we have no one else to talk to so we have to do all their whims.

Pros

The best thing about working for TK Maxx is the people that I work with, very friendly and helpful found people that I will be friends with for life. The pay is good and the hpurs are very flexible with fitting in with university and my social life.

Cons

Dealing with difficult customers, however this is easy to over come as the staff around me are always extremely helpful. Also customers tend to be very careless and have little respect for our products as you always find dump stock.

Pros

Buyer's admins can attend vendor meetings with buyers and voice own opinions, great access to excel training, competitive pay, employees ready to help each other, creativity in encouraged through responsibility for trend research and mood boards, exposure to weekly reports and training into how to read them, as a buyer's admin you get a great understanding of product and best and worst sellers throughout a huge number of brands. The company is also as fair as it can be, if you have to stay late at work, the supervisors ensure you get your time back.

Cons

If you are interested in buying there is not a great route up from buyers admin level, you are required to join the graduate scheme at allocator level and work your way up to assistant merchandiser before you can move across into buying as an assistant buyer. However, if you want a long term career at TK Maxx an understanding of merchandising would be extremely useful for off-price and the graduate scheme provides excellent training.
