Pros

Diversity and ambitions of the other rental sales agents

Cons

One of the most frightening companies I've ever worked for. There is very little stability and a lot of excuses given by upper management preventing one from succeeding. Ive been promised so often to "hang in there" and that things will change but there are never any hardcore facts to show this projected improvement presented. And with rules and policies changing every day from headquarters and conflicting with the old ones, everything is super disorganized. Had an encounter with a corporate employee from headquarters who came to help out the branch with our quality. He showed up hungover, barely coherent, and smelled like weed. He's even went out drinking and has done drugs with one of the other rental agents! I have seen a lot of really intelligent talented employees resign over the past 4 months. Not a great company if you value hard work and high achievement!

We are pleased that you appreciate these aspects of Sixt! To address your concerns, you are correct, there are many changes that Sixt U.S. has implemented and has yet to implement. Even though we are a very established company in the European markets we are still very young in the United States. Due to this, our branch and HQ employees work collectively to find solutions that will benefit our customers and employees alike. Especially in the case of making a franchise a corporate location (as done in Las Vegas), there are many steps to take to ensure compliance. Additionally, our company is filled with ambitious and hardworking individuals dedicated to entrepreneurship. Many employees have been with Sixt U.S. since we came here 5 years ago and have grown significantly. We are determined to mirror this process with high achievers on the front line as well. 2015 was the most profitable year for Sixt across the world. We have made many significant changes to the U.S. structure that has greatly benefited us and will continue to bring us into success in the coming years. Pros

A nice training program and plenty of opportunities to earn overtime.

Cons

The company is very disorganized! There are days when there are no vehicles available or management shows up late. You are pretty much on your own after training.

Thank you for taking the time to review Sixt. It is our goal to continuously train employees even after they leave their first week or training with our Corporate Trainers. We have a specific training plan in place that requires that a new hire have a “buddy” for all of their shifts the first few days to a week of starting at the branch. This will allow the new hire to shadow and a get a feel for the counter. The Branch Manager will also have a checklist to go through for each new hire as well. All of this insures that our new hires are comfortable with the Rental Sales Agent role. Additionally, being a premium rental car company, our Rental Sales Agents are very polished and professional. Our behavioral interview style insures that we are choosing the best personality for the job. We also understand your frustration regarding not having certain vehicles. Depending on seasonality, the amount of walk-ins, and vehicles that may not have been returned on time, we will run into issues where we do not have the exact car that a customer was hoping for. It is important to go over this concern with your Branch Manager and Regional Sales Performance Manager so that they can further coach you on your sales approach, and ways of offering small discounts and incentives to customers if a different car must be offered. Of course, we are concerned to hear that you did not receive the proper training at your branch and have additional concerns regarding your team. Pros

Great co-workers, management and environment. Great commission based pay. Flexible schedule. Great perks, such as giftcards for being top in sales, free care for a week, discounts on luxury cars.

Cons

Never enough vehichles to supply the customers. Sometimes, iwe would have 50 reservations and no cars on the lot. Which makes it difficult to upsell.

Thank you reviewing Sixt! It is great to know that you enjoyed your team, management, the schedule and pay, as well as the perks associated with being a Rental Sales Agent with Sixt. You are correct. Depending on seasonality, the amount of walk-ins, and vehicles that may not have been returned on time, we will run into issues where we do not have the exact car that a customer was hoping for. However, the great advantage of being a sales agent is that we provide you with many tactics on how to combat this issue as well as the power to offer small discounts and incentives to customers if a different car must be offered. We also have several Fleet Planners at all of our locations now that monitor the availability of our vehicles weeks in advance and even down to the hour. They will work closely with sales agents and detailers to make sure that the customer is satisfied. Unfortunately this a common occurrence for the entire rental car industry, but we do our best to always accommodate the customer.
