Grenading Itself

Pros

You will get to work with some top security professionals Exposure to a lot of different SMEs Dell Benefits package (probably going away soon)

Cons

What was once a great company with a great culture has blown itself to pieces with poor business strategy and constant RIFs Upper management was to gung-ho on forcing customers onto the new platform before it was ready. They eroded customer trust and are paying for it dearly. The severance package continues to get worse and worse each round of layoffs. To make matters worse the package in the US in substandard for the industry and FAR below what the folks in all other parts of the world get. The company will use you until they no longer have a need. After recent layoffs the company will be lucky to function.

Only good for work-life balance

Pros

Good Dell benefits and work-life balance is okay

Cons

Oversaturated market where Secureworks is severely behind (by the time you get into an account, they've already bought Arctic Wolf). This is partly because Secureworks refuses to use any marketing dollars to get their name out there. Don't bother asking to do a customer/marketing event...it's not in budget. No chance for lateral movement. Feels like a pyramid leadership structure and you have no real voice. You're asked to sell other services that pay but don't retire any quota, therefor reps are left looking like they sold nothing even though they closed numerous deals. Commission structures have no "rhyme or reason", they are lazily thrown together and everyone has the exact same number regardless of the market you're in. Just be prepared to be a cog in the wheel with the impending worry of being laid off.
