Pros

Pay is above average, and job requires some travel, which I like. Bonus based on annual goals, which are tied to personal and team goals. Part of Airbus, which is nice when approaching prospective employees. Good executive management with good overall strategy.

Cons

The job was ok, although it takes way too long to get employees on board. This is a result of all the Airbus implemented HR policies. The main reason for this review is the lack of aligning benefits between sites. There are significant differences between the Satair Virginia (VA) employees and the Satair employees in Peachtree City and Miami (PTC/MIA), and the company has been dragging their feet about aligning them! They did align the holidays some 5 or 6 years ago, but that's as far as they went. Management thinks the PTC/MIA employees don’t know the specifics of the VA benefits, but many employees know because the same positions exist in VA and PTC/MIA in basically all departments, so these benefits are discussed amongst colleagues. I am in HR so I know. This has created a lack of trust in the Americas management, because they’ve completely avoided the topic, so there’s not even a timeline on the alignment. Shame on them. Here are the differences between VA and PTC/MIA: Pension: VA gets over 10% of their pay allocated to a pension yearly, while PTC/MIA don't get a pension. Vacation days: both get 20 days per year after 3 years Sick days: VA gets 12 days per year, PTC/MIA gets 0 days Medical: VA $250 out of pocket max per year, PTC/MIA depends whether you're single or married with dependents and which plan is chosen. Single insurance has a max of $750 deductible, $3K max per year. PTC/MIA employee plus spouse, kids, or both is a TOTAL JOKE when compared to the VA plan AND the single PTC/MIA plan. Average premiums of $6,300 per year, average deductibles of $4,000 per year. HSA plan gives employees with families $1K to offset these costs. Lucky for me that I don’t need to use the company plan for my family, but I would if I had the VA plan. Airbus talks about inclusiveness, equality and fairness, and at the same time, makes the employees with families, which typically have more expenses, pay more out of pocket. All in all, a big gap for us PTC/MIA employees. PTC/MIA employees are second class citizens when compared with VA. Management, this makes us feel like you think less of us! By the way, even new employees in VA get these great benefits, so new VA employees get more than veteran PTC/MIA employees, which is a total disaster. If the benefits aren’t aligned soon, maybe PTC/MIA should unionize to make it happen, and possibly get better benefits than VA.
