Pros

Great atmosphere, good compensation that is at the top of the industry, a very stable and established company, great benefits including outstanding share and pension plans, the ability to take on more challenging work if requested, promotions from within the company based on your performance, a very well respected company and a leader in the industry.

Cons

The only downside I can think of is the same as all office jobs, the old 9-5 without much excitement. I guess the pressure could get a little too much for certain people at times, but in reality, if you couldn't handle it, you probably wouldn't be a good fit for the company.

Pros

The best reasons to work at RBC Capital Markets are for the job training and experience it gives with a big name backing. RBC invests a lot of time and money training their employees. Too bad they don't spend that same amount of time in retaining their employees. In several instances, I have found that RBC pays above average to the marketplace.

Cons

Expect lots of transition as managment consistenly moves employees around. Also several peers have left the company.

Pros

it's not bad salary, and if you just want to do your job and nothing else, no advancement in the company. it the place to be.

Cons

they will abuse of your wish to grow and say that it's always good experience, when they use you only when needed and tell you that you can't be promoted but you have the knowledge to do the job.
