Pros

good experience, good recognition at bonus time of hard work and effort, looks great on resume

Cons

If you are a good at what you do, management does not want to move you out of that position. It seems that those employee's who whine, tattle, complain or even threaten to quit move forward in an effort to keep them happy.

Pros

Good Benefits, half way decent pay. That's about it.

Cons

Unrealistic (actually outrageous) sales goals relative to market penetration. Regional managers vary in their leadership styles and it's not so bad if you're in a region with a good RM. Top level management are not in touch with reality. They pass down blanket "one size fits all" directives and marketing gimmicks which work in some areas and fail miserably in others. The stress caused by micro-management (the worst I've seen in my entire career) coupled with the unattainable goals make this place a nightmare to work at. It would seem that back office people differ in their opinion completely- probably because they're not dealing with the same level of managerial disconnect due to back office's isolation from the market. The disconnect filters down to clients. I actually had customers tell me that the only reason they stayed there was because they like branch staff but actually hate the bank. Work here only if you love to telemarket prospects, harass existing clients into opening more accounts that aren't really needed, enjoy lousy back up support, getting 90% of your loan applications turned down, and if you enjoy being bullied.

stable financials, significant growth and opportunity if culture can be navigated successfully.

Cons

no cohesive culture in the US and regions operate in silos, which can be frustrating. ambition and drive not highly valued attributes.
