Pros

Good experience in embedded systems (if you are working in software that is). you will get to work on totally next generation products and concepts. Great learning experience. Its like working for a big startup

Cons

Pay is slightly below average. The HR department treats you like an object sometimes. There is no Project Management. Company is turning slowly into a walled company. There is an R&D wall, which throws stuff into the development section sitting accross the wall. The development section either throws the stuff back over from the wall to the R&D or takes it and develops it, then the marketing steps in and a lot more back and forth throwing stuff goes on. In the end, the lower level and to some extent the middle management lose visibility into whats happening.

Pros

Its good to know that the software you write runs on millions of phones around the world. Good benefits package. All the benefits are good and recently the company is trying to mimic Google like culture.

Cons

Pay is not great and high level politics can be a pain at times. Large company - and hard to know what other groups are doing. Not software focussed.

Pros

The upper management is extremely good at seeing problems and fixing them before they become a major issue. They are very smart in how they handle the finances and the market. Overall a happy stable enviroment in an industry where there is so much turmoil

Cons

The middle management is extremely weak. So many old timers who were good or excellent engineers have been promoted to middle managers and they are doing a very poor job of managing the day to day activity and the engineers under them. This makes for a highly stressful and inefficient work environment on a day to day basis resulting in long hours for most engineers.
