Pros

It's a dynamic cutting edge company. It has a very good work environment and they try hard to provide employees with all their needs in order to retain them over the years.

Cons

While I am aware that the technology is changing, the number of times that we changed our development platforms led to a feeling of inadequacy with regards to detailed knowledge in one area. I feel that I became a jack of all trades and a master of none. This led to a lot of time lost due to necessary learning curves for each project.

Pros

The engineers are QC are sharp. There's a good amount of young talent, and the company is doing well financially. The benefits package is excellent, and San Diego is a fun town to live in. People are generally friendly and helpful. And it's fun to work on popular consumer products and see other people carrying them around. Management reviews happen every six months, so there is a relatively rapid feedback cycle.

Cons

The hours can be difficult. A lot of client companies are in Asia, so travel may be required. Real estate in San Diego is expensive (although prices are falling fast).

Pros

Great benefits. Every building has a gym and most managers are nice

Cons

Too large a company, I used to feel like a small cog in a big machine Qualcomm lacks structure. If you have worked at a process driven company it takes time to understand how things function. Qualcomm is also an old boys club. If you know someone higher up or have been there for years and are well connected you will not have a problem, otherwise you are going to remain where you are. if you stay at QCOM for several years then eventually some of the stock options will be worth money.
