      Qualcomm is a very competent technology company in the wireless communication world and a top cell phone chip manufacturer in the world. Like many large technology companies, the company is investing heavily into R&D and trying to find a way forward for new growth areas, while still maintaining the leader position in its strength area.

      The success in the past and established business relation with current partners may limit people's desire to push for new business model and areas.
