Lots of potential for growth and advancement. Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, cellphone modem and other technologies are well-respected industry-wide. New research is well-funded and supported. Don't have to worry about layoffs since we are in a virtually recession-proof growth area.
Cons
There is a lot of bureaucracy associated with doing anything that has legal consequences (result of emphasis on importance of protecting Qualcomm CDMA and other IP). This can make it difficult and time-consuming to communicate with customers and contractors or work with open source software.
