Company in decline

Pros

Still better than many companies that one could work for - in a good industry, lots of smart people, fewer opportunities than before but still affords opportunities for people

Cons

Although Qualcomm is still probably better than many companies, it is far from what it used to be. The company seems to have lost its way in how it treats and supports its employee base. It used to provide a competitive pay and benefits package and had many leaders who were not only smart, but also just good people who put the needs of the team and company over their own self-interests. The pay and benefits packages are no longer competitive and the culture of the organization has definitely changed and not for the better as new leaders have been brought in or promoted. This isn't a reflection of the HR organization but rather a reflection of the entire executive management team.

Stay away from CE Group

Pros

While it might be overall a good company to work for , do stay away from the CE group 1) You can really learn a lot technically , if you are in the right team. 2) Benefits were good up until 2015 3) Campus was good 4) San Diego is amazing

Cons

1. For the CE group, basically there is no learning at all. 2. Expect No work life balance. And i mean No work life balance. You are going to be put on round robin basis, to do weekend support , even on long weekends and holidays. So expect to be on weekend support every 2 or 3 rd week depending on your team size. 3. Your team leads/managers don't know how to talk properly . Expect to be yelled at frequently. 4. Full of politics, multiple layers of middle management.

Pros

Benefits (at the time), some cool people

Cons

I can't really say enough bad things. Unfathomable politics unlike anything I've ever seen before, I will say that.
