Working for publix has been great. My managers are very nice people and they make working there enjoyable.

Cons

Low hours and pay. They hire too many people making it hard to get a good amount of hours.

-The ability to climb the ladder is entirely dependant on your work ethic and not social status. -Respect is prominant in the workplace -Pay raises are bi-yearly/attainable at every evaluation -Higher calibe/status customers who are friendly -Understanding management -Flexible shifts for students and those with secondary employment -Every day really is a pleasure!!

Cons

-You are held at a higher standard than the local competition so performance is a must -Rules are strictly enforced and if broken, consequences will follow. -Climbing the ladder starts from the bottom, the very bottom for some.

Pros

Great company with alot of respect towards it's customers, associates, and it's community. So far, Publix has been the best company I have worked for, and I am a hard to please worker! I had to retire from the company due to relocation, and I miss Publix as an employer and a place to shop dearly =(

Cons

You will have to work hard to be noticed and get those good raises. The management is old school and you will usually end up at a good ol' boy store, so be careful of discrimination. Corporate will punish discrimination severally, so be sure to keep this on mind.
