Pros

Best pay and benefits you can get in the UK tech sector from mid to senior IC positions.

Cons

- The performance review tend to set employees against each other. Although it's not everywhere as some teams manage to create great collectives, the status quo always degenerates into a rat race where you do not know whether your colleagues are peers or competitors. Very toxic - There is no accountability from leadership. From mid to C-Level they cannot figure out a proper strategy, avoid making decisions and then blame ICs for poor performance. (Heard of year of efficiency, increased intensity, yeah all that) - The company is the most US centric which treats London like a dumpster for projects Americans do not want to do and takes away successful projects created here. - tech stack is all internal so it can set your career back in certain domains like data and ML.

Pros

Top notch pay and benefits. Great place to work and make a high salary while having absolutely no accountability to deliver any results.

Cons

Completely unstructured organization with no clear direction on what the priorities are or what success looks like.

Pros

Great benefits, good total compensation and exposure to bleeding edge technology.

Cons

What can I say, working here literally gave me a severe anxiety disorder, I actually had to take therapy after I left to treat it. There is a cutthroat culture deeply ingrained here, you are quietly going to be pitted against your own team whether you like it or not, this is amplified by the fact that the company does stacked ranking during performance reviews, if you don't know what that is, look it up, its terrible and its morale crushing for employees, they are aware of it but are not willing to change it. Managers are semi supportive but will not put their hands to the fire for you, their expectations are ridiculously high and borderline unrealistic especially when they provide very scarce guidance and almost no structure. This the only company I've ever worked for that actively punishes you for your mistakes no matter how small they are, once you get a bad performance review there is no coming back, it will haunt you forever until the day you quit or are laid off. Save yourself some mental sanity, there jobs out there that pay the same if not better and are not as stressful as Meta/Facebook.
