Pros

Competitive pay for every minute you've worked, relatively friendly team,

Cons

Terrible hours - you might have to stay until 3 am even though you were meant to finish by 11.30pm. Been working therefor quite a while now and I have never left on time. This might be okay if this is your full-time job and you don't have any other occupations besides it but not of you're a full time student with a busy schedule and exam stress. Managers, apart from a few exceptions (maybe) fail to understand that there are people who are not able to devote all of their energy to this job. Also, the breaks are way too short. People who work 9 or 10 hour shifts only get an half an hour break. Furthermore, the whole team, or maybe even the whole company, fails to acknowledge the importance of customer service. Managers refer to older customers, who need a bit longer to ask a question, as "time wasters". The employees however are not to blame for this. If you as an employee are treated in a disrespectful manner, why would you treat you customers any better? Lidl clearly does not understand how a company can achieve a healthy culture allowing it to provide good customer service.

Pros

The pay. Honestly... Thats really about it

Cons

Unsociable hours-5:30am/11-12pm, 30 minutes break for 10-11 hour shifts, considering all the heavy lifting that is done during working any delivery or back stock, breaks given on managers say so- often an hour or two before your shift actually ends, unrealistic time frames to complete tasks in- e.g when a pallet of stock istowering above you or 30 minute to clean, mop, get rid of put back AND clean bakery. Never enough staff in one store at any given time- doubles the work load for staff. All in all a very soul destroying career choice if you have family, or any sort of social life.... Feel abit like a slave not been able to eat or drink when i want considering managment do and the fact that your work is physical. Ohhhh yes. Never ever get my contacted hours.... So always end up working ridiculously more hours for hours that i owe the compnay even though i shoukd have had them in the first place
