Pros

Career opportunity growth and people are generally down to earth and personable. The firm is doing its best to provide a comfortable environment for people to work in, though the nature of the job is quite boring and the hours are known to be very long. Usually people mixed up the two - the nature of the job and KPMG as a firm that is. But really if you choose to be in the industry there's not really a better place to work for.

Cons

The nature of the job is rather boring and be prepare for very very long working hours during the year-end audit.

Pros

KPMG is an a nearly $20 billion dollar international firm and with that comes tremendous flexibility, opportunity, and excitement. The firm allows for great flexibility in terms of office location - as programs are in place to enable global mobility. The firm also encourages its top-performers and keeps them motivated with excellent compensation packages. In addition, the firm has made a committment to work-life balance by giving employees 5 weeks vacation and encouraging them to use the weeks in full each year. Finally, our training programs are rated amoung some of the best in world and are comprehensive and enjoyable.

Cons

The work at KPMG can be demanding and challenging. At times, the work environment can be stressful and extremely deadline focused. The key to being successful at the firm is proper planning and expectation forming. During January through March one should expect to work 60+ per week without the benefit of overtime compensation (although bonuses are paid to those with overtime worked); however, this busy time is offset by the summer months where there is flexibility to use the 5 weeks vacation the firm provides. Although KPMG does have an international infrastructure and the benefits that come with it, at times it can be difficult to carve one's own path and ensure one's personal and professional goals are being met.

Pros

Diversity, emphasis on work/life balance, open and honest communication at all times and most importantly - THE AWESOME PEOPLE! There is also a great emphasis on work hard and play harder. There is an emphasis on the career development of women. The firm provides excellent training, inside and outside. Whatever you choose to do, it is a great place to start your career at and then maybe go into the industry, gains ome experience of a different sort and then come back here and keep rising upwards. They will take you back with open arms because they encourage diversity of thought and experience as well.

Cons

It is afterall an industry that requires long hours and sometimes during busy season you do put in 60 hour weeks regularly. However, this is not restricted to KPMG alone. It is something seen all Big 4 firms. In all Big 4 firms, such as this one, there are times of the year when companies are filing their financial statements and things tend to get really hectic and exhausting. However, a firm like KPMG also gives you 25 paid days off! They encourage you to take all your time off as and when needed. So while there is a downside, the salary, bonus, and other benefits compensate for it.
