Pros

25 Days Vacation The relationship with upper management is really good. You get feedback on a regular basis from many different managers at different levels. The firm has an emphasis on work life balance. They allow you to be flexible with work schedules as long as you still get your work finished. KPMG encourages and allows for rotations to different places around the world. KPMG also has many short term travel opportunities that you can encounter when working at all levels of the organization.

Cons

Longer work weeks than you will find in "industry", but the same as other big 4. Sometimes you can look back and find that your month was crazy traveling all over the place, but it does not seem bad if you are ok with a changing environment.

Pros

25 days of PTO. Nice people to work with at the staff level.

Cons

Although 25 days of PTO are available, the work/life balance is a joke for half the staff and the 25 days go unused. Half the staff is experienced and competent, hence they get worked to death while the other half gets to sit around studying for the CPA exam cause no one wants to use them. There's no encouragement to excel, because if you do, you just get a lot of work and at the end of the day, you're rated the same as everyone else and paid the same as everyone else cause management is too caught up in their ERP to figure out what's really going on in the cubes.

Pros

Excellent culture, strong leadership. KPMG is what you make of it -- build strong relationships with your peers and management, gain respect, carve yourself a "niche" (a challenge in accounting or tax work) and you're set for life. You can stand up with the support of the Firm's values and code of conduct, and know that even if your immediate boss disagrees with you, someone more senior will give their support.

Cons

First few years are probably the hardest work of your life, but if you cut yourself a niche and build good relationships you can start directing others to do the hard work!
