Pros

The Experience is Great, however the hours are bad. Networking events can be annoying, and alot of politics are often played, you must kiss some butt to get ahead.

Cons

The hours are terrible and there is no overtime. In addition, work can be tedious and uneventful. That is just the way the big 4 is now a days.

Pros

There is a lot of downtime between cycles and the frequently occurring housefires. The cafeteria is really great and very reasonable. They frequently have seasonal specials. You can order pies at Thanksgiving, a Corned beef dinner for St Pats! Every new employee gets a laptop.

Cons

You have to be in your position for 2 years before you can be promoted.  2 years is too long for most of the associate positions - especially when the job has been marginalized to the point of following written procedures - no thinking or learning required! Systems are antiquated and need improvement. They need to invest in some serious improvements

Pros

The best reasons for working at KPMG are: 1) Opportunity to work in a Big Four environment 2) Great raises and fair bonus structure 3) Flexibility in schedule (e.g., working from home)

Cons

The downsides of working at KPMG are: 1) Boring work (unless you love accounting) 2) Awful work/life balance for no reason (long hours simply because Partners are at a client site -- not due to to heavy workloads) 3) The fact that everyone is promoted each year, regadless of performance 4) Inefficient process (hard copy workpapers, and a highly inefficient end to end audit process) 5) Negative working environment
