Pros

Work life balance is second to none. There is a ton of smart talented people and if you get on a good team, going to work can be a pleasure. Training is always available and encouraged.

Cons

Extremely political atmosphere and partners rule the roost. Technology applications are slow and cumbersome and hinder work output. Can wake up one morning and be totally blindsided and your entire team is let go. Too much effort is being placed on outsourcing. You get what you pay for.

Pros

Development opportunities; self-directed development. You can make what you want of your career, assuming you can navigate the political climate and deal with complex personalities.

Cons

As mentioned above, you need inter-personal skills to succeed at KPMG. Being an accounting nerd just won't cut it -- you WILL be stepped on by someone with better people skills.
