Pros

Teamwork and learning, they pay you and train you to the fullest extent which is very hard to find. The exposure to deals is limitless as well.

Cons

No cons unless you can't handle the hours.

Pros

Good interaction with people that you work with. Pleasant atmosphere to work at. Hours are flexible. Dress code is casual.

Cons

Internal mobility is rare. You are asked to do a job and that job may not change a lot.

Talking a Big Game

Pros

Management's current mindset on expansion could present opportunities for financial services professionals looking to shift their current roles to a different company.

Cons

Continually heard from management how Jefferies was "special" and had a "uniquely different approach" to financial services compared to the traditional bulge bracket firms. In truth, it has all the pitfalls of larger rivals (uninspired thinking and leadership, internal politics) without the benefit of their expansive institutional scale and resources.
