      Great chance for motivated young engineers to enter into an exotic field in Romania - IC Design

      Pros

      As an engineer you have flexible time, as long as you deliver good quality and in time. Your proffesional development depends only on how motivated you are, once this is visible you get full support from managers.

      Cons

      Although inevitable in any company, too often you see too much politics... Another unpleasent downside, especially for star performers, you don't have bonuses based on project performance, but only an annual bonus based more on the overall company results; in some cases this type of reward is not motivating at all, and descourage performance oriented mindset.

      Still a good place to work, respectful management, not bad navigation through tough economy. Knowledgeable staff, good chance to educate yourself working with industry leading experts. Company is an industry leader in some application areas. Restructuring helped company to remain an industry leader, stay on the cutting edge of technology. Still good benefits in tough economy times. Flexible time off,

      Cons

      After cutting costs people got assigned to multiple projects, too much paperwork, sometimes that paperwork takes more time and looks more important than actual work. People getting nervous, some are leaving the company (usually the best experts). Chances to get training reduced with budget cuts.

      Troubled HR department makes for poor work atmosphere

      Pros

      The best parts about working at infineon are probably the amount of time off emplyees get. However this applies to a lot of companies in germany and austria as well. Tons of paid vacation and a pretty flexible schedule allow for a lot of personal freedoms other companies may not offer.

      Cons

      Poor managment, too many managers, too few options for career opportunities, poor grading system by HR. HR is probably my biggest complaint, since they seem to do so little for their employees. Even if it's not the case, they are not making it look any different. This leads to a lot of unhappy employees.
