Pros

For me to work in IBM is like having a privileged seat in a very exciting market, the IT market. You get the opportunity to do different things during your career and learn and grow all the time. The atmosphere at work is very good and team work and positive feedback is the norm vs internal fightings (not 100% free of them, that's life but a much better environment than other companies I've known). You are encouraged to take ownership and calculated risk and to lead things which for me is very important.

Cons

Big companies come with some complexity, you need some time to understand and get used to it. If you value short term immediate return over a consistent longer term career probably you would end up jumping to other companies. The culture in IBM promotes outcomes and ownership. You need to find your own way to work/life balance.

Pros

Embracing the role of Shift Lead allows you to grow as a leader and guide your team to success. This job is like a daily puzzle-solving adventure. You get to unravel complex server-related issues, making each day unique and interesting. By working closely with your team, you cultivate strong bonds and refine your communication and teamwork skills.

Cons

Juggling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines can sometimes be challenging, especially during peak work periods. Servers are the heartbeat of many operations, and when they falter, stress levels can rise. Staying cool under pressure is crucial in this role. While being a leader is rewarding, it also means taking on a higher level of responsibility, including the performance of your team and the success of projects.
