      You have chance to change your profession within IBM Japan ( You need not change your company for work ) because IBM Japan doing business extensively and your manager will encourage you to do so.

      Cons

      Work life balance is disaster.

      Pros

      Nobody can really tell if you're doing anything - management is so screwed up they don't even know where people are most of the time. For the most part, you're in company with good people. Information sharing is part of the 'old' IBM culture, and a lot of people still believe in it.

      Cons

      Declining pay annually. 'Commodity' job shop - not a career place any more. New hires are generally lackluster people who were dead-ended at other companies - not the 'top 10%' off premier college campuses that we used to get.

      Pros

      Good stepping stone to start your IT. Learn as much as you can then move on to a real rewarding job.

      Cons

      Management have no clue. They are arrogant and do take care of the low ranking employees. You will not be appreciated or rewarded for your hard work. They always look at the bottom line and how to cut cost without any regards for the employees. Management is a good old boys club. You need to rub elbows with the right people and brown nose your way to the top.
