      Good place to work if you want a stable environment

      Pros

      Room for advancement, stable company with global opportunities. Management has gone through alot of trouble to make sure the HR infrastructure is tailored to helping employees develop their careers. IBM has alot of talented employees that are easy to reach out to and get help.

      Cons

      Bureaucracy is almost engrained in IBM's corporate culture. IBM is slow to react to changes in the industry. There are so many parts of IBM that sometimes act independently, or even worse, to each other's detriment. There is much confusion inside of IBM as to where the boundaries are between groups.

      Pros

      - Encouragement to be the best you can be. - Learning opportunities are good. - Management encourages creative thinking.

      Cons

      - Management will work you to the bone. They are trying to do too much with too few resources, constantly making me feel overwhelmed, and in the end unappreciated. - There are too many processes hindering productivity and causing frustration beyond belief. - Internal organizations don't always work well together. Getting help or cooperation from other organizations is problematic and another point of frustration.

      Pros

      To get a good name on your resume and some good sweatshop experience.

      Cons

      No pay raises or bonuses, long hours, no recognition and a very uptight place to work. Minimal communication with senior management. I have worked there for 8 years and would recommend getting out after 3. It is a good name to have on your resume but you have to endure the stagnant corporate culture.
