Pros

Everything you've heard is true. HubSpot is the best thing since sliced bread. And yes, we have that too, for employees. But its so much more than the free food/beer/casual environment. HubSpot is spurring a real culture shift when it comes to work. I honestly wish that more companies would model theirs off of ours because it WORKS. You work when/where/how you want, because at the end of the day, you know what you're responsible for and are treated with the respect to get the job done. Feeling empowered within your day to day work as though you're an owner of a start-up, yet having the support and guidance of a large international company is one of the best gifts I've ever been given. And oh yes, we get rewards and recognition for that strong performance to boot.

Cons

I feel disappointed by colleagues that don't take advantage of all that HubSpot has to offer, or those that may not have experienced life outside the HubSpot world who may take these benefits for granted. HubSpot offers a lot to those that are willing to take advantage of it.

What a thoughtful review, thank you for taking the time to write it--I love that you feel we treat you with respect to get your job done, that's the ultimate aim of our entire philosophy around autonomy. If you have specific ideas on how we can engage your colleagues who don't currently take advantage of programming, let's chat, and in the meantime we'll take your advice to heart and invest further in employee growth!

Pros

Hubspot values employee happiness and satisfaction. They invest heavily in helping you find the path that is best for you and helping you along that path. Additionally they go out of their way to figure out how employees are doing and try to actively manage any developing problems. Hubspot has ruined all future jobs for me

Cons

Because hubspot is such a high power shop they expect great things from their employees. Its definitely not a place for everyone. If you don't know how to work hard then hubspot isn't for you.

I apologize on behalf of HubSpot for ruining all your future jobs--let's hope they are all with us if that's the case:) Thank you for taking the time to write a thoughtful review, and for all of your hard work--building products that help our customers grow is so critical to our long-term success, and we're lucky to have senior software engineers like you helping us do it, so thank you, so very much, for what you do every day.

Pros

HubSpot is a great place to kick off your career and develop skills in the tech world. There are a lot of different departments that can appeal to anyone coming out of college or experiencing a change in their career or wanting to take their skills to the next level. I've learned more at HubSpot over the past few years than I've learned at any part of my life. They TRULY invest in training and that's huge. Most companies miss this, HubSpot does not. It's actually sometimes sad to get out of training because you're like WOAH! I just learned a ton of incredible stuff, I've met all these great people... now I hope I can do just as well as they've set me out to be... You want to fly at this company. As you go through highs and sometimes you'll feel like you messed up (but you really didn't) if you do continue to prove yourself, you do have the ability to advance in your role, you will move up, or even if qualified, possibly join another department. HubSpot has flexibility and they are human to understand sometimes it takes a year or so to understand what really drives you. Also, the perks of after work are fun and the added benefits from mystery dinners to the gym in the office to working from HOME are huge. I love that I can work from anywhere and that I actually DO have complete trust from my manager. This company is human.. sometimes you want to jump for joy, sometimes, you feel like well, this is definitely a job, but the majority of it, what you put into the machine, you truly get back out :).

Cons

Work life balance can be difficult AT times. You do have to be committed to working here. There are days with long hours and added stress due to the being in a growing company, a SaaS business model, and sincere drive to succeed here (like... people don't want to give anything other than 100+%) but that's why HubSpot isn't for everyone. It's only a con if 100%+ isn't something you don't aim for. It can be very "clicky" at times and that can be a huge bummer, but you find your way and the people who build you up and you focus on your career development.
