Pros

First access to merchandise. Customers are happy to be in the store so are easy with which to work. They appreciate design and decorating advice. Learned visual merchandising which was extremely valuable.

Cons

As with most retail jobs...management. Once in awhile the store would land a manager who knew what they were doing and would actually inspire us to give 110%. Unfortunately, those valuable gems don't seem to last long due to ruthless District Managers, or any other 100 reasons.
