Pros

Decent compensation, free lunches, some strong leadership at the mid management level.

Cons

Senior management have a vague ambition of being the number one fund, but struggled to communicate a plan to achieve this. Some obvious nepotism and a very narrow gene pool leads to group think. General attitude that employees are well paid and so can be treated poorly.

Pros

Smart people, fascinating business, stimulating challenges. Inspiring to be contributing to one of the leading quant research businesses in the world as it continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible!

Cons

Still some running between office buildings while we complete the move into the new office

Pros

At the moment… none compared to other funds: XTX, HRT, Jane Street, Citadel, MWAM. Salary gets good if you stick around for 5/6 years, but also who wants to stay there for 5/6 years when you get much higher salaries elsewhere?

Cons

Very hierarchical place. The only career progression that makes sense is in management, but there are way too many managers. Senior management uses engineers like pawns. There is a reason why this company has 3.5 on glassdoor😅 (even with the fake reviews of HR).
