Pros

I’ve had the ability to work from home 50% of the time since 2019. The work hour flexibility is second to none. One day you could log in at 6:00 a.m. and at 9:30 on another. As long as you work a minimum of 40 hours, management doesn’t make a fuss over when your day starts. I also enjoy not working weekends. My past two positions with former employers required us to work a minimum of one weekend monthly, and I hated EVERY minute of it.

Cons

You talk to any Enterprise employee and chances are they’ll tell you they’re underpaid. Let’s face it, the company is stingy and could definitely pay its people more. My role comes with a huge work load and incredibly high stress levels! A VAC is the point person for several departments throughout the company and can easily be pulled in 10 directions by 10 different people in a matter of two minutes. And the pay does NOT compensate for all that this role entails. The max annual base salary is just under $45K, which is an absolute joke given all the headaches and nonsense that come with the job. My salary with a past employer was a little less than $100K a year, and the stress load was a cake walk compared to what I deal with now. My career at Enterprise started off with very high hopes. COVID obviously impacted the business (as it has other companies globally), which is no fault of Enterprise. But things could’ve been handled better. While it’s understandable executive management made financial decisions to help the company sustain and stay afloat, the additional restrictions (no pay raises for over a year, increased workloads with zero overtime, and other ridiculous decisions that didn’t allow us to effectively do our jobs) put morale in the dumps. Employee satisfaction suffered and people are burned out, miserable, AND not making enough money.

Pros

Met a lot of good people

Cons

Read this review & all the other bad ones. This isn’t trip advisor where they are complaining about small things for the sake of it. Be aware of the bad, because they are the real reviews. Other reviews are requested by HR staff to bluff it out and try and see the other side. The reality is, this company boast of making “more than Disney” “top X in the world to work for...” They even boast on this website of “£5 to £10 billion (GBP) per year”. 3 months into COVID. They made redundancies of 50% of their staff. All tenure of 4 years to 19 years. You will be a number. A number who works 50-60 hours a week, no lunch, no life. You’ll take abuse from customers about how bad the company are for over promising but nothing will change. Use my trial and error of 7 years at the company and save yourself the hassle. They won’t change. It’s not worth sticking out. You’ll work yourself to the bone and when your face fits great when it doesn’t you’re done. Very toxic Environment. Popularity is key. I worked for 7 years at several locations and gave most of my daily hours to them. Myself and many others were made redundant and they kept newer staff over experience. Why? Because they weren’t afraid to challenge decision. They don’t want to evolve or be innovative they want to keep margins low and your self confidence lower. After getting told you were redundant they never spoke to you after. No letter or email of thanks. No text message or call. Money in the bank and disposed of. Dont waste your early 20s working to the bone for a company who will chuck you at the first chance. There is no autonomy for how to run the business, if you have any suggestions they won’t listen. Area managers can’t even make a decision on their own staff if general manager doesn’t agree based on biases.

Pros

*great as an entry level position *training & development *monthly fee gets you a company car *the people are great! *fair amount of opportunities to move up as long as you are willing to move *recently changed sales culture so now it's not as big of a factor in promotions (also means you don't have to be the unwelcomed pushy salesperson) *decent benefit packages *great maternity leave program with a not too common phase-back period *building long term friendships

Cons

*poor work/life balance (managers will regularly work 12+hr days with no lunch sometimes) *you never seem to have enough cars, but when you try to plan your fleet to make it through the day, you're suddenly not aggressive enough *managers are expected to do everything (manage sales, market accounts almost daily, collect ARs, employee development, job interviews, etc.) while managing an office full of people waiting for their car to arrive and being understaffed by 1-2 employees all month *positions above Branch Manager don't come by too often in smaller Areas or Groups. Area Managers tend to stay in their position until fired or they find something else *a lot of upper management will give their "back in my days" stories as a way to let you know they were better than you, not taking into account new challenges presented with stricter ethical guidelines, sales practices, easier access of technology for our customers to compare prices, etc.
