We have a structured performance management and career development program focused on employees and managers that is anchored by quarterly check-ins that look at performance, our ways of working and career aspirations. Our total rewards model is based on pay for performance and attainment of goals, along with the behaviours that make up our ways of working. The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.
Cons
It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
