Pros

Vacation, Benefits Package, Pension Plan, the occasional genuine and great coworker

Cons

I have worked for a number of different departments at this company and you will find almost every area has incompetent manager(s) running the show. They micromanage but those in charge have little idea how the work is really done - they only care about the stats and that their employees below them make them look good to upper management. The HR department won't help you at all - I have dealt with sexism and harassment - they will make it feel like it is your fault and consider the matter over as soon as you have filed your complaint. Managers and team leads are promoted within by their friends, hardly any possess management skills or interpersonal skills. It is very political, very cliquey, very stressful and overwhelming environment to be in. If you are a free thinking individual - this place is not for you. Stay away from this place if you like your sanity. I went in with a positive attitude hoping to achieve a rewarding, stimulating career but it is the exact opposite now.

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
