Pros

They treat employees at independent contractors and don't micro manage them. They are a great company to work for if you dont want to be on a team of 8 reps calling on the same docs. I hated having a huge POD at another pharma co and really liked that when selling lantus i only overlapped with a hosptial rep. As long as you do well you are rewarded. They didnt come down on you if you didnt report great notes, it really ws a matter of killing your numbers. At other firms, it was like "call on your 10 per dya and we won't have an issue"

Cons

The promotion policies are not transparent. When I was up for promotion, I had done very well in my territory in growing a territory that was already at the highest share. I had great experience both at Sanofi with management activities as well as at other firms. I tried really hard to intervieew for positions but was told I need 3 years for a position and I had 2.5 years. By the time I would have started, I would have had the 3 years. It was a dumb line to draw in the sand. Later I found out they had bent these rules previously.

Pros

You Learn a lot about GMP/Pharmaceutical Industry since its heavily regulated by the FDA. The pay is good for the position.

Cons

There are limited opportunities for career advancement, particularly for contractors. Training is generally restricted to the specific process equipment required for assigned tasks, with little opportunity for broader skill development. Additionally, the workplace culture can be challenging. Some long-tenured employees appear to feel entitled to treat others disrespectfully, creating a toxic work environment. Their seniority often seems to shield them from accountability, as concerns raised with management frequently go unaddressed. There also appears to be a lack of diversity and inclusion, which contributes to workplace microaggressions, disrespectful behavior, and an environment where not all employees feel equally valued or respected. There is limited opportunity for contractors being hired on a full time basis, they have to leave the company for six months before they can be hired back! No company benefits for contractors!
